Colombia to Showcase Leadership in Sustainable Construction with CONSTRUVERDE 2025 and WorldGBC-ARN Meeting

One of Latin America’s most significant sustainable construction events, Construverde, is returning to Bogotá, Colombia’s capital. This event will gather over 600 leaders from across the construction sector to promote the development of sustainable and resilient built environments that positively impact communities.

During the same week, Colombia will also host the inaugural regional meeting of the WorldGBC-ARN, a key platform for coordinating sustainability initiatives across Latin America in the lead-up to COP30.

CONSTRUVERDE, the International Forum & Expo on Sustainable Design and Construction, returns to Bogotá on July 30-31. Organized by the Colombia Green Building Council (Colombia GBC), this 16th edition will convene over 600 industry leaders —including government officials, academia, financial institutions, and international partners—and will be the central focus of Colombia’s Sustainable Construction Week, a series of events dedicated to driving sustainable, resilient, and healthy built environments.

Parallel to CONSTRUVERDE, Colombia will host the first-ever regional meeting of the World Green Building Council’s Americas Network (WorldGBC-ARN), the regional network that brings together Green Building Councils across the continent. Colombia GBC is Colombia’s only official representative to this international network and, through its direct alliance with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), leads the promotion and implementation of building certification systems such as LEED and CASA Colombia in the country.

This gathering provides an invaluable opportunity for Colombian stakeholders to actively contribute on regional key strategies to support climate goals, decarbonization and, regeneration of the built environment across the Americas.

The 2025 edition of CONSTRUVERDE comes at a key moment for the construction sector. Recent data underscores the sector’s momentum: in 2024, 42% of new housing projects and 16% of other developments pursued sustainability certifications, with 2.9 million square meters certified in the first quarter alone. Colombia now boasts 657 LEED-registered projects and 183 under CASA Colombia, reflecting the country’s growing commitment to green building practices.

Under the theme “Accelerating Sustainable Environments Together,” CONSTRUVERDE will convene over 50 international experts for more than 20 specialized conferences and panels. Key topics will include biodiversity, climate action, sustainable business models, investment, innovation, and well-being. More than just a forum for technical discussion, the event is a key gathering point to forge alliances, mobilize new initiatives, launch industry tools, and showcase the sector’s progress.

During this same week, participants can also join complementary workshops, academic sessions, networking events, and technical visits to sustainable projects and manufacturing plants. These activities provide valuable opportunities to deepen knowledge, build professional connections, and see sustainable construction in action.
